Staff Development Day 2014 - What's New? 

 Breakfast starting early!  Get a jump on Staff Development Day 2014 beginning at 7:45 am with the Opening Breakfast on the College Green. What a great way to start your day!

 

Transformative Conversations@Brown: Talking About Tough Stuff at Work.  The theme for Staff Development Day 2014, Transformative Conversations@Brown: Talking About Tough Stuff at Work, will focus on power dynamics, respect for identity and individuality, and balancing technology and people. At individual sessions, facilitators from the Transformative Conversations@BROWN Project and others will give staff the necessary tools and techniques to hold challenging, yet compelling, conversations across diverse perspectives. Morning and afternoon sessions around this theme will be open for browsing in LearningPoint on May 13; registration begins May 21.

The Living Case Study The transformative conversations theme will be showcased at a unique performance following the breakfast. Through storytelling and improvisation, five actors will help the audience navigate down the oftentimes challenging road of difficult conversations and guide them through the steps needed to communicate successfully. You don't want to miss this!  Register in LearningPoint beginning May 13.

Ice Cream Social & Raffle There will be a sweet ending to your day when you come to the College Green at 3:30pm for an ice cream sundae buffet. President Paxson and her fellow Cabinet members will be scooping your favorite flavors – you add the toppings!  And make sure you stick around for the final raffle because you must be present to win!
