Employment Verifications and Reference Requests

Employment verification inquiries and reference requests regarding present or past University employees that are received by telephone or in writing must be referred to Records and Data Services for handling unless the employee has provided Human Resources with prior written approval that includes a hold-harmless clause.

Without release forms from employees, the University will state only that employees are or were employed by the University, their dates of employment, their job titles and whether work was full or part-time status.

Employment verifications and reference requests should be processed as follows:

  • If the employee submits a written request and release form (including a hold-harmless clause), salary and other relevant information may be released
