Brown University has memberships with several Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) through which we have access to many contracts that have already been competitively bid.  In most cases, utilizing these contracts automatically satisfies competitive bid requirements.  In other instances, GPO contracts can serve as a starting point for further negotiations.
