Brown University supports and recognizes excellence in teaching through Curriculum Development Grants  and Awards for Teaching Excellence

The Sheridan Center’s Harriet W. Sheridan Award for Distinguished Contribution to Teaching and Learning  recognizes Brown faculty who exemplify teaching through the support of their colleagues, including graduate students, in professional development in reflective teaching that integrates teaching and research.  The Sheridan Center also offers up to four fellowships a year for its Junior Faculty Teaching Fellows Program.  The Center's Laboratory for Educational Innovation promotes the development of creative approaches to teaching and learning at Brown by  providing support for developing teaching modules and courses that experiment with a range of pedagogical innovations.
