Junior Faculty Roundtables

Co-sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty, the Junior Faculty Roundtable is a series of gatherings designed to bring new and junior faculty together with campus leaders and senior colleagues in a small-group setting to explore a variety of faculty issues. Junior Faculty Roundtable sessions focus on topics such as getting timely feedback on your teaching, documenting teaching effectiveness, preparing for annual reviews, and understanding the tenure and promotion process at Brown. Recent speakers include the President, Dean of the Faculty, Dean of the College, and Chair of TPAC (Tenure Promotion and Advancement Committee).

Junior faculty and postdocs in science, engineering, and mathematics are also invited to attend a workshop about NSF CAREER Awards, which is offered in partnership with the Science Center, OVPR, and the Broader Impacts Committee. Materials from past sessions of this workshop include  Broader Impacts at Brown , Questions to Consider When Developing an Education PlanFaculty Early Career Development Program, and Powerpoint Slides: Developing an Effective Education Plan for Your NSF CAREER Award Application.
