Baccalaureate Storm Plan
In the event of the threat of inclement weather on Saturday, the Baccalaureate storm plan will be enacted by 8:00 AM. The decision to move to the storm plan will be communicated via the Brown homepage, the Commencement website, a message will be recorded on (401) 863-3100, and a text will be sent to all graduating students.
If the Baccalaureate storm plan is enacted, the procession on Saturday will be cancelled, but the ceremony will still take place beginning at 2:30 PM as scheduled. Seniors should report directly to the First Baptist Church between 1:30 and 2 PM. Waterman Street will be closed to traffic between the College Green and the Meeting House until 4 PM so that students may walk to and from the church.
Families and guests may view a simulcast of the service in Meehan Auditorium (located on Hope Street at Lloyd Avenue). Hope Street will be closed to vehicular traffic at the athletic complex to accommodate pedestrian traffic into Meehan. Families are strongly encouraged to watch from Meehan as there is ample seating available in this facility. However, more limited seating for the simulcast will be available in the Salomon Center for Teaching and Sayles Auditorium. The doors for all simulcast locations will open at 1:30 PM.
The Baccalaureate Service will also be live streamed on the web at www.brown.edu/web/livestream which can be accessed from most mobile devices.
