Associate Professor of Chemistry
Amit Basu grew up eating the local cuisine in Kobe, Tehran, Poona, Jakarta, and Singapore, and likes his steaks very very very well done. He finished his IB requirements at the United World College of Southeast Asia, and studied sewage treatment for his Extended Essay. He is not a fan of Asterix comics written and illustrated by Albert Uderzo. His initial foray into online education was highly successful, as he learned to juggle by watching YouTube videos. He has taught a variety of courses in the Chemistry Department, ranging from introductory Organic Chemistry to Chemical Glycobiolgy, and research in his group focuses on questions that lie at the interface of chemistry, biology, and materials science.
