Jonathan Readey

Lecturer in English

Jonathan Readey is a Lecturer in English and teaches in the Nonfiction Writing Program. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio and earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia, an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. Prof. Readey works in the fields of nonfiction writing, where he has co-edited the book Crafting Cultural Rhetorics: Readings for University Writers; literary criticism, where he has published essays in The Henry James Review and the book collection The Literature of New York; and creative writing, where he has published several short stories in literary journals. Prior to returning to academia, he worked in television news, business writing, technical writing, and researching and editing commemorative books, experiences he tries to bring to bear in his courses and advising at Brown.
