In September and January of each year, Brown welcomes transfer students from institutions all over the country and across the world. Transfer students usually enter Brown at levels between Semester 3 and Semester 5, depending on how much transfer credit they present from their previous institution(s).
Current transfer students serve as peer advisors to incoming transfer students and plan a number of activities to facilitate their transition to Brown. Before classes start, new transfer students meet with academic advisors to discuss their course selection for the semester and their longer-range academic plans. Transfers are encouraged to consult with additional faculty and deans in planning their programs of study.
Transfer students receive special support from Dean Maitrayee Bhattacharyya and Dean Yolanda Rome. Transfer students are also welcome to consult with any academic dean during open hours, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Requests for transfer applications may be made to Brown's Admission Office.
