Prepare Your Application

Many fellowship programs are incredibly competitive, especially those with high name recognition such as the Fulbright, the Rhodes, and the Marshall. To stand out in a sea of strong applicants, you have to spend a significant amount of time researching opportunities, seeking out advising, reflecting on your interests and goals, and then, of course, preparing the fellowship application itself.

This section of our website provides an in-depth guide to all aspects of the application process. Here you will find information on identifying appropriate opportunities, writing effective applications, and obtaining strong letters of recommendation. You will want to give yourself plenty of time for consulting with your faculty mentors and fellowship advisors and for revising your applications based on their feedback. An upfront investment of your time now will pay huge dividends down the road.
