Brown's Office of the Dean of the College, the Swearer Center for Public Service, the CareerLAB, and the Watson Institute for International Studies helps undergraduates and recent alums with all aspects of the research and fellowship application process--from finding the opportunities that match their interests and goals, to working on drafts of application essays, to practicing for interviews with faculty committees.
We host an annual Fellowship Fair, hold information sessions, run workshops, and provide direct advising about all parts of the fellowship process. Brainstorming advising sessions and writing workshops help students develop their fellowship applications, and information panels with fellowship recipients and faculty members help students learn about the application process and the work that takes place on a fellowship. The Dean of the College office conducts mock interviews for students who become finalists in national competitions for fellowships requiring interviews.
