Summer Email #5: Letter to Your Advisor Reminder and Transfer Credits (August 3, 2012)
Dear incoming Transfer, Visiting, and RUE students:
If you are starting Brown in the fall, your letter to your advisor is due August 6 and can be submitted here. You will find out the name of your advisor once you arrive on campus, but please use this letter as an opportunity to introduce yourself and reflect on the First Readings text, Sons of Providence (if you aren’t able to read the entire text, please do still introduce yourself - you can download the letter that was included in the mailing from this site).
As a reminder, the T/V/RUE Orientation website has a list of this and other important deadlines (fall and spring deadlines vary). Please be sure to check it often. The website also contains other useful information, including PDFs of most of the materials sent to you and a link entitled “Frequently Asked Questions,” which can point you in the right direction – whether that’s the Admission office, a concentration advisor, the Office of Residential Life, or one of us – your T/V/RUE Deans.
Finally, if you are a Transfer student starting in the fall, and we have received your Transfer Worksheet and final official transcript(s), you will be able to see unassigned credits posted to your internal academic record by late August.
As always, feel free to email with questions.
Your Transfer, Visiting, and RUE Deans,
Dean Rodriguez and Dean Bhattacharyya
