TVRUE EMAIL #5: Fall Orientation Info

Dear Brown students:*
Your arrival on campus is now less than a month away!
When you arrive on campus, go to the Residential Life Office to pick up your keys and an arrival packet, which includes important information about Orientation, the time and location of your academic seminar meeting, your first advising meeting and the number of transfer credits you have received.
Here's the Orientation schedule, with events noted for both you and your families (P). Two important ones are:
Welcome Meeting: Saturday, Aug 30, 4:00 pm in Salomon 001
Academic Nuts & Bolts: Sunday, Aug 31, 9:00 am in List 120
Also, if you haven't done so yet, make sure to learn more about your Transfer/Visiting Counselors, who are looking forward to helping you transition to Brown.
If you have submitted a final transcript, you can view your unassigned credits in ASK. During Orientation, you'll learn more about assigning specific courses required for your concentration. Credits have not been posted for Spring transfers.
Here are some upcoming items due August 15:
  • Letter to Your Advisor
  • Academic & Student Conduct Code tutorial
  • Chem 0100-web tutorial registration
  • Course preferences - Remember that you will not formally register for courses until after your advising meeting during Orientation.
As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email.
Best,
Deans Maitrayee Bhattacharyya (Visiting and RUE Students) and Yolanda Rome (Transfer Students)
*Much of this information is intended primarily for incoming fall students, but is being sent to spring admits also. Please see deadlines page for information that is altered for spring admits.
