Aiyah Josiah-Faeduwor hails from the historically rich Boston, Massachusetts where he attended John D. O'bryant High School of Math and Science. With the fortunate aid of BottomLine, a college access program similar to College Visions, he applied and was accepted to Brown University. The College Advising Corps provided a perfect opportunity for Aiyah, a Public Policy major, to experience firsthand how Rhode Island education policy directly impacts the ability of underserved schools to successfully send their students to institutions of higher education. Aiyah's long list of character traits—from pop culture savant, fashonista, and known master of "hashtags"—allows him to be a very relatable and credible near-peer Guide to this generation of students at Mt. Pleasant High School. He hopes to give students the support and encouragement to become self-advocates and create college-going cohorts amongst their peers - #CollegeForTheWin!
