Julio Reyes is returning for his second year as a College Advisor at Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School in Providence. Julio was born in Los Angeles, California. He grew up dividing his time between Miami, Florida and El Paso, Texas. Julio graduated second in his class from El Dorado High School where he participated in the high school band and student government. He now holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Portuguese & Brazilian Studies from Brown University. He spent the fall semester of his junior year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he studied Sociology at PUC-Rio. While at Brown, Julio dedicated himself to working on social justice issues and community engagement as a Minority Peer Counselor Friend and Latino Heritage Series/Student Initiative Programmer through the Third World Center. He hopes to later attend graduate school and continue working in higher education.
