TRI-Lab Presents Symposium on Healthy Early Childhood Development

On Thursday October 2, Dr. Adele Diamond, an international expert on child development and education issues, and cognitive neuroscientist at the University of British Columbia, will join over 200 scientists, policy makers, teachers and child care professionals at a symposium aimed at improving the health, educational performance, and well-being of Rhode Island’s children.

Meet Fourteen College Advisors Changing Lives Across R.I.

Each year, the College Advising Corps selects fourteen exceptional recent college graduates to serve in high schools across Rhode Island as full-time College Advisors. 

Housed within the Swearer Center for Public Service, the College Advising Corps seeks to increase the number of low-income, first-generation college and underrepresented students who enter and complete higher education.

Mayor Taveras Applauds Summer Interns for Contributions to Providence

Mayor Angel Taveras expressed appreciation this month to 11 students who spent this summer working to make a difference in Providence through the City's internship program. Participants in the summer internship program, generously supported by Brown University and Cox Charities, included undergraduate and post-graduate students who spent summer months immersed in projects across a number of municipal departments.
