Rhode Island Urban Debate League (RIUDL)

The Rhode Island Urban Debate League (RIUDL) engages students in policy debate to improve academic outcomes, enhance leadership skills, and foster civic participation. Part of a national network of Urban Debate Leagues, the RI League supports debate teams in over a dozen high schools with students participating in local and travel tournaments, college preparation workshops, and a two-week summer institute. College student volunteers partner with high school teachers to coach students after school and to judge at Saturday tournaments, developing mentorship relationships with high school students along the way. RIUDL also supports the community by facilitating workshops and participating in public debates.
