The CAC offers grants to Brown faculty and students through four major grant programs.

Arts Initiative

In 2011, an anonymous donor provided Arts Initiative funding to the Creative Arts Council for the purpose of energizing all the arts at Brown, and the Granoff Center in particular, and to act as a stimulant for others who want to support our programs.

Arts Initiative Funding is meant to support

  • Programmatic Support for Visiting Artists, exhibitions, conferences/symposia, and departmental support including course assistance and course replacement
  • Faculty Research
  • International Outreach
  • Community Engagement

There is a broad range of activities that can be supported by Arts Initiative funding.  Any faculty interested in applying for AI funding should contact Chira DelSesto to discuss the proposed project, and request an application form and application deadline.  Proposals under $10,000 will be accepted on a rolling basis; proposals over $10,000 will be reviewed once per semester.
