Established by Sunita Mahtani Stewart, Ph.D. P'11 and William Anthony Stewart P'11.

The Arun Stewart ’11 Memorial Fund in the East Asian Studies Department has been established by Sunita and Tony Stewart in memory of their son, the late Arun David Stewart, Class of 2011, to honor his passion for Chinese language and culture.  The fund supports undergraduates who conduct independent research projects in China, or participate in low-paid or unpaid internships in China, or pursue intensive language studies in China. Distributions from the Fund will be exclusively used to support summer travel to China (including related living expenses) by undergraduate students   The purposes of the Fund, in order of the Donors' preferences, will be to support recipients who: 1) conduct independent research projects in China; or 2) participate in low-paid or unpaid internships in China; or 3) pursue intensive language instruction in China.  With respect to distributions from the Fund that are made for the purpose of pursuing intensive language instruction in China, the Donors prefer that recipients be enrolled in the Inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies.
