Cognex is a “visionary” technology company! Founded in 1981, Cognex is a New England-grown company that has become the world leader in the machine vision industry. Their products inspect and help deliver things you use every day—from smartphones and tablet computers to hair conditioner and packaged foods—and some you may hope to use someday, such as hybrid automobiles from the US, and cars from some of the leading manufacturers in Europe and Japan. Cognex President, CEO and Brown alumnus Robert J. Willett will talk about where Cognex is going, and David Michael, Ph.D., Director of Core Vision Tool Development, will demonstrate how Cognex machine vision works. Pizza will be provided from Nice Slice!
