The English concentration invites practices of reading and writing that promote the understanding of literatures and cultures in English through history, criticism, theory, and analysis. We offer a track in the practice of Nonfiction Writing, and we invite applications to the honors programs in both English and English/Nonfiction Writing.
We remain committed to the understanding of literatures in English from a transnational perspective—an approach we embraced over a decade ago and in advance of a broad movement in the field. And we encourage students to commit themselves to the creation of original knowledge in their reading and writing.
