Professional Accomplishments
Tom Mooney has been a reporter for 28 years, the last 23 years for The Providence Journal covering news locally, nationally and abroad. A specialist in feature and narrative writing, his reporting has taken him to war-torn Colombia and Vietnam and the Olympics in Barcelona and Salt Lake City. His stories have won regional and national recognition, including as a Pulitzer Prize finalist for team coverage of The Station nightclub fire.
