The John Carter Brown Library significantly expanded its services to Fellows by opening a scholar's residence, called the Fiering House, at 79 Charlesfield Street, some three blocks from the library. The house has 10 rooms available for occupancy.

Some Fellows choose to make their own arrangements for housing. Some bring a family or pets, for example, or may not be able to be booked into Fiering House.
