Jane Miller

Poet Jane Miller’s most recent book is Midnights, a Saturnalia Press artist/poet collaboration book with visual art by Beverly Pepper.  Her other works include the book- length sequence A Palace of Pearls (Copper Canyon Press), winner of the 2006 Audre Lord Prize in Poetry; Wherever You Lay Your HeadMemory at These Speeds: New and Selected PoemsThe Greater Leisures, a National Poetry Series Selection; and August Zero, winner of the Western States Book Award.  She is also the author of Working Time: Essays on Poetry, Culture, and Travel, published in the University of Michigan’s Poets on Poetry Series.  She is the recipient of a Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Award for Poetry, as well as of a Guggenheim Fellowship and two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships.  She serves as an adjudicator for the Fullbright Foundation and as a consultant to several literary foundations and literary presses.  A resident of Tucson, she is Professor of English in the Creative Writing Program at the University of Arizona, where she served as director from 1999 to 2003.
