Robert Creeley

Robert Creeley was the author of nearly six-dozen books, among them the Collected Poems,1945- 1975So There, Poems 1976 – 1984Just There, Poems 1984 – 1994; and the Collected Prose.  He edited the work of fellow writers, including Charles Olson and George Oppen, and collaborated with such visual and jazz artists as Francesco Clemente, R.B. Kitaj, Steve Lacy and Steve Swallow.  He was the recipient of a Lannan Lifetime Achievement Award, the Bollingen Prize and the Beyond Columbus Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as Guggenheim, Rockefeller and NEA Fellowships.  He was New York State Poet from 1989 to 1991.  He died in March, 2005.
