PEM Fellows receive faculty appointment at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Fellows are invited annually to conduct small-group sessions for medical students in the Epidemiology Course. Fellows may serve as a physician-mentor to first and second year medical students through the Doctoring Course.
Speaking engagements arise regularly in a multitude of forums including Emergency Medicine residents’ weekly didactic conferences, Pediatric residents’ noon conferences, and the Hasbro ED Collaborative Care Committee (an audience comprised of nurses, nursing assistants, and administrative staff).
Fellows find ample possibilities for authorship through research, case reports, or quality improvement projects, and receive strong mentorship from faculty throughout the publication process. Unique publication opportunities are available to fellows, most recently including textbook chapter authorship and production of medical simulation videos for Medscape through The Simulation Center.
