Divisions

Behavioral Health

Behavioral Health is a large and growing division in the Department of Family Medicine that addresses mental illness, its comorbidity with chronic disease, and unhealthy behaviors. In the Division, professionals from different behavioral health specialties work together in training and education, patient care, research, and leadership initiatives.

Geriatrics

Our Geriatric division is comprised of clinical experts in geriatrics including a doctorally prepared, gerontological nurse practitioner; a master’s prepared social worker, a doctor of pharmacy, a nutritionist, and a physiatrist.

Global Health

The Center for International Family Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University has a long history of involvement in direct service, education, research, and advocacy around the globe. 

Maternal Child Health

Family Medicine residents staff the Maternal and Child Health service at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, providing family-centered prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.

Pediatric

Comprehensive Pediatric education across a variety of settings enables our residents to manage common pediatric problems seen in outpatient primary care, as well as in the inpatient and emergency settings.

Primary Care Sports Medicine

The Division of Primary Care Sports Medicine offers a variety of opportunities for interested medical students and residents to gain skills to provide comprehensive orthopedic care.
