Creditworthiness

Lenders use creditworthiness to determine eligibility for certain loans, including privately-insured loans. Applicants with poor credit ratings must rectify their credit status before they apply for these loans. The medical school is not responsible for funding students who are denied access to loans because of a negative credit status.

Financial aid applicants are encouraged to contact the three major credit bureaus listed below to request free copies of their credit reports on an annual basis. Reports may be ordered individually through the websites. In addition, all three credit reports may be obtained through http://www.myfico.com/ or http://www.AnnualCreditReport.com. These websites may charge a fee for the combined reporting service.
