From the Brown Medical Alumni Association
Dear Fellow Alums,
Welcome back!
The Brown Medical Alumni Association is pleased to invite you to Reunion-Commencement Weekend 2012, to be held May 25-27.
As always, all MD and MMS alumni are invited back to campus for the weekend’s festivities. Thanks to feedback from 2011 Reunion Classes, we’ll be piloting a new program this year inviting back Reunion years plus and minus one year. We’ll be toasting the MD Classes of ’76, ’77, ’78, ’81, ’82, ’83, ’86, ’87,’88, ’91, ’92,’93, ’96, ’97,’98,’01,’02,’03, ’06, ‘07 and ’08.
- Registration is now open! Check out the schedule of events and register online. Registration will be open until May 18, 2012. To learn about and register for University events taking place during Reunion Weekend, please click here.
- Registration is only available online in an effort to reduce our footprint. However, a printed version of registration materials may be requested by contacting Carlen Adler at AlpertMedical_Events@brown.edu or 401.863.6030.
- Registration will once again be free of charge to encourage gifts to the Brown Medical Annual Fund. We are hoping for 100% alumni participation in reunion class giving and encourage alums to make a gift in lieu of the traditional registration fee. Donors will be listed by class in the Reunion Honor Roll section on the reunion website.
- A highlight of this year’s Reunion is a celebratory medical school dinner for all alums and their families. The dinner will be held in the beautiful 17th-floor grand ballroom of the historic Providence Biltmore Hotel. Festivities will include a video montage of then and now photos of fellow classmates. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend and to take part in age-appropriate activities.
- Reunion is a great time to stop by and see the new Medical School building. Student-led and self-guided tours will be available throughout the weekend.
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits will be available for some of our forums on Saturday. That means you may be able to deduct your Reunion travel as a business expense for tax purposes. A full list of CME lectures will be posted online when details are final and also available on campus in the schedule of events.
