Help Our Students Travel (HOST)
Medical parents can be some of Brown's greatest ambassadors, advocates, and educational partners. A program called HOST — Help Our Students Travel — is designed to connect Brown medical students with parent volunteers during the residency interview process. Coordinated by the Brown Medical Alumni and Parents Office, HOST fosters a national network of Brown medical families while reducing medical students' expenses as they travel around the country for residency interviews.
As a parent volunteer, you are asked to provide a student or students with a free place to stay during the interview process. You are also in an optimal situation to share your insight into the community in which they are interviewing.
Being a HOST parent volunteer promises to be a memorable experience for parents and students alike. You will learn firsthand about the Medical School today, the curriculum, and life in the new Medical School building. In addition, you will have the opportunity to connect with your child's peers, outstanding students who have met the challenges of a highly demanding medical program.
If you are interested in becoming a HOST volunteer, please fill out a registration form. If you have questions about the program, please e-mail Bethany Solomon, director of alumni and parent programming, or call Bethany at 401 863-1635.
