Throughout their Alpert Medical School experience, students are given advising  that allows them to explore specialties and receive mentoring in the fields they are interested in.

Residency applications are submitted in the fall of the student's fourth year. The National Residency Matching Program coordinates the match process for all medical school graduates.

As the match list shows, Alpert medical students match with the some of the most competitive residency programs in the country. About 15 percent of the class will stay in Rhode Island at one of the Medical School's own outstanding residency programs.
