Areas of Research

Research is a critical part of the Physics program at Brown University. Experimental research is being carried out in the fields of astrophysics and cosmology, biological physics, condensed-matter physics, elementary-particle physics, low-temperature physics, nonlinear optics, and surface physics. Theoretical research includes work in the fields of condensed-matter physics, cosmology and general relativity, elementary-particle physics, and neural science.
