Population and Development: Anthropological Perspectives

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] - A group of emerging scholars in anthropology and population gathered from North America and South Africa at Brown University March 14-16 for a conference entitled “Population and Development: Anthropological Perspectives.” A dozen papers were pre-circulated with the goal of creating a stimulating conference and productively moving the papers toward publication.

The event was co-sponsored by the PSTC and the Watson Institute and convened by Brown Anthropology Professor and PSTC Affiliate Daniel J. Smith and Berkeley Demography Professor Jennifer Johnson-Hanks.
