On April 3-5, 2011, the Population Studies & Training Center (PSTC) at Brown University hosted the 9th Annual Wits-Brown-Colorado-APHRC (WBCA) Conference in Mencoff Hall. These meetings among the four institutions are made possible in part by funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
The goals of these meetings are to: 1) foster and sustain research initiatives; 2) strengthen the partnership in the area of advanced academic training in demography and population studies in sub-Saharan Africa and other de- veloping settings; and 3) provide opportunities for young scientists within the group to present their work and gain from mentorship from senior research scientists.
The participating organizations are University of Witwatersrand, Brown University, University of Colorado, and African Population and Health Research Center. We are all thankful for the support from Hewlett Foundation.
