AB/MPH Overview

As undergraduates in the AB/MPH program, students concentrate in Community Health/Public Health, must qualify for the Honors Track and successfully complete an Honors Thesis.

Concentrators in the AB/MPH track take 17 courses toward the combined degree during their first four years (15 content courses plus 2 independent studies for Thesis preparation). Students in the standard AB concentration have 12 course requirements, with 2 additional independent studies for those pursuing Honors.

The 5-year AB/MPH Degree is a rigorous program in professional public health education open to Brown undergraduates.  As undergraduates in the AB/MPH program, students concentrate in Community Health/Public Health, must qualify for the Honors Track and successfully complete an Honors Thesis.

Students can apply to the AB/MPH program in the second semester of their sophomore year or during their junior year. Application to the AB/MPH is done through the Graduate School, with review done by the MPH Admissions Committee.
