Tuition in the Brown MPH Program is charged on a per course basis. The required internship (PHP2070, the Public Health/Community Service Internship) has the same tuition as a course. The tuition for the 2013-2014 academic year is $5,576.00 per course. The tuition rate is adjusted annually. The usual full time course load for first year students is 7 courses: 3 courses in the fall, and 4 courses in the spring, which includes PHP2070 (the Public Health/Community Service Internship). Total tuition for the first year, assuming the standard full-time course load of 7 courses, is $39,032.00.
Full-time students typically take six courses during the second year. Part-time students are charged $5,576.00 per course.
Health insurance is required for all students. The cost of health insurance through the university is $2,986.00 for the 2013-2014 academic year. Students who have comparable health insurance may submit a waiver form to the Insurance Office. Otherwise the University health insurance fee will be charged. In addition to the health insurance fee, there is a health services fee of $690.00 for the 2013-2014 academic year. This fee supports the on campus Health Services Program which provides medical care and other health services to students. There is an additional charge of $54.00 for the graduate activity fee for the 2013-2014 academic year. There is also a charge of $64.00 per semester for the graduate recreation fee.
