After a brutal beating, Jake thinks he's killed his wife Beth. His over-bearing mother believes soup and bed rest will nurse him back to sanity, but Jake is haunted by visions of his wife, recovering from brain damage in her Montana home. As Beth struggles with the violence and passion of her memories, Jake chases his visions across the American West.
