The Department of Theatre Arts and Performance Studies sponsors a variety of performances and events throughout the year including more than 50 co-curricular and extra-curricular performances, talks, workshops, and discussions annually. These diverse offerings range from internationally-renowned artists discussing their work to play readings by up-and-coming writers and directors from the Brown community.

Every year the department is host to a number of festivals and performance series, including:

Additionally, the department hosts faculty and student sponsored academic events throughout the year that feature performances, conversations, workshops, film screenings and lectures around current research, ideas and issues in theatre, performance studies and dance. These include:
