We Can Rebuild Himis a dark musical comedy about a family suffering from the loss of their eldest son and the slippery slope of denial that they traverse. A duel between the literal and the metaphorical, the play deals with how a family struggles to put themselves back together when they find they have literally fallen to pieces.
Propelled by the steady beat of their son’s disembodied heart, the mother leads the family down an increasingly dark path while desperately trying to hold onto the past. Both catchy and devastating, the music will invoke both laughter and solemnity as it leads you through this story about the importance of facing even the bleakest of realities. By the end, the audience will leave believing in the power of making peace with unsatisfying ends and in allowing the healing process to emerge from that place of uncertainty.
