Faculty Advisor Welcome Reception
Sayles Auditorium, The College Green
A place to gather, enjoy light refreshments, and meet other families. Join the Faculty Advising Fellows, Randall advisors, and deans for a Family Weekend welcome event. Faculty Advising Fellows are a select group of experienced academic advisors. They host meals and other events on campus that bring together faculty and students for lively discussion. Randall advisors help second-year students navigate all aspects of the sophomore year.

President’s Welcome

Salomon Center for Teaching, DeCiccio Family Auditorium, The College Green
President Christina Paxson and the Undergraduate Council of Students President Maahika Srinivasan '15 will welcome family members to campus, provide remarks about current efforts underway to advance Brown's mission, and respond to questions.

Building for Environmental Reasearch and Teaching, Carmichael Auditorium
Grab a cup of coffee and meet key administrators responsible for all aspects of the undergraduate experience at Brown. University administrators will discuss initiatives in academic and campus life. This event is a great opportunity to ask questions about advising, the residential experience at Brown, learning in and outside the classroom, and more. Light refreshments will be available.

10:00 am – 10:50 am 
Brown Faculty Forums – Session 1
Various Locations
Brown’s faculty share their expertise regarding topics of widespread interest to create an ongoing educational link with the University.  This segment of Family Weekend allows families to share students’ classroom experiences through lectures by Brown faculty, all of whom regularly teach undergraduate courses and/or interact with students in their research labs. Light refreshments will be available at each forum. Specific forum topics will be announced prior to Family Weekend.

11:00 am - 4:00 pm (approx.)
Shuttles to the Brown Stadium
Shuttle buses will run continuously to the Brown Stadium from 11:00 AM until one hour after the game ends.  The shuttle can be picked up at Power Street Garage, Wayland Arch, Faunce Arch, Hope Street at Nelson Fitness Center, and Lloyd Avenue at Lot 89/90 Entrance. Tickets are available for a reduced price of $15 if purchased in advance by clicking here. Please use the code "BROWNFAMILY" to  receive the discounted price.  Tickets can also be purchased at the stadium on game day for $20. Your student is admitted free with his/her Brown ID.  There is a concession stand inside the stadium.  Shuttles will be running to and from campus from 10:30 AM until one hour after the game ends.

Sophomores and their families will have an opportunity to explore critical topics such as academic concentrations, career interests, study abroad programs, and the best use of Brown’s open curriculum.

Understanding Brown’s Commencement

Building for Evnironmental Research and Teaching, Carmichael Auditorium
Members of Brown’s Commencement staff will be on hand to answer questions about this important weekend.  This session is geared toward families of seniors, but it is open to all.

Family Weekend Keynote Address

The Keynote Address speaker will be announced mid-August 2014.
