Brown University Winter Break is from Wednesday, December 24th to Sunday, January 4th.
--We are open limited hours during this time; please check our store hours.
--The Brown Mailroom is closed during Winter Break.  Any returns and exchanges shipped back to us will not be delivered to us until Monday, 1/5/15.

--Original register receipt required for return or exchange.
    --If no receipt, Merchandise Credit may be given at Management's discretion.
--Refunds will be in the same form as original purchase with original receipt.
--Merchandise must be in original/saleable condition.
--See time limit for specific merchandise by department.
--Exception: A 10 day period is required for a cash refund on check purchases.

EXCEPTIONS

--Some textbooks cannot be returned if opened.
    --Please inquire when you purchase a wrapped textbook.
--Special Order books and purchased Academic Regalia are non-returnable.
--Announcements (all orders) and Diploma Frames (online orders) are shipped directly from the manufacturer.   Please contact the manufacturer directly if product is damaged or defective.

Technology Center Merchandise Returns & Exchanges Policy

Technology Center Merchandise - 15 Days for return or exchange (see EXCEPTIONS)
--Original register receipt required for return or exchange.
--Refunds will be in the same form as original purchase with original receipt.
--Merchandise must be in original/saleable condition.

EXCEPTIONS - Technology Center Merchandise
--Software cannot be returned if opened or installed.
--Opened Peripherals with original packaging may be returned, but will be assessed a 15% restocking fee.
--FINAL SALE: Computers, Hard Drives, Chargers, Flash Drives, and all Apple products
   (including iPods and iPads):
   --Not returnable unless unopened or tested defective within 15 days of purchase.
   --If tested defective by our service department, the item will be exchanged for the same or equivalent item.
   --If item is out of stock, it will be replaced within 5 to 7 business days.
--Computer purchases are covered by the manufacturer's warranty:
      --Systems may be returned for replacement within 15 days of purchase if diagnosed DOA  (dead-on-arrival) by our service department.
     --DOA systems must be returned in original packaging and with all contents or a 15% restocking fee will be assessed.
     --Other than DOA, systems will be repaired under the terms and conditions of the manufacturer's warranty.
     --Configure-to-order, personalized, or other customized products cannot be returned under any      circumstances unless product is DOA and will be exchanged for the same or equivalent item.

Textbooks Returns & Exchanges Policy

Fall/Spring Semester
First 2 weeks of classes:
--Students have a maximum of three (3) days to return any textbook for a course in which they are enrolled.
--To return a textbook for a course in which a student is not enrolled, a drop slip or course schedule is required for verification.

Second 2 weeks of classes:
--Returns are accepted for dropped coursed only; Drop/Add form required.
--Returns must me made within three (3) days of the date a course is dropped.

No Returns after first four weeks of classes - Check with Textbooks department for exact date.

Summer Session Textbooks
Course duration determines number of days from date of purchase to return textbooks:
--1 week course = 1 day to return textbook.
--2 weeks course = 2 days to return textbook.
--3 weeks course = 3 days to return textbook.
--4 weeks course = 4 days to return textbook.
--7-8 weeks course = 7 days to return textbook.
