A Science & Culture Program for High School Students

2014 Program Dates

Saturday, March 22 - Sunday, March 30, 2014

Eligibility

For students currently in
grades 10, 11 & 12 with a
minimum age of 15 at time
of program.

Note: BELL Hawai’i is a physically active program involving significant time outdoors, including hiking, swimming and snorkeling.

Fee $3,195

Completed applications are due as soon as possible.

Program deposit deadline:
February 10, 2014

Full payment deadline: 
February 21, 2014

A complete application consists of 5 items:

  1. A completed application
    Please note: The application period for Summer 2014 is closed.
    Join our mailing list and we'll keep you informed of the latest program information.
  2. An essay describing what you hope to gain from participating in this program. (Submit this essay as part of your online application)
  3. A Teacher's Recommendation
  4. An Official School Transcript. Applicants should request an official transcript containing their current grades/marks, as well as all grades since 9th grade including Fall 2013. Please ensure an explanation of the scoring system is included in English (for example, 6 = excellent or A = excellent). Transcripts may be uploaded directly within connect.brown.edu using the Upload Documents tab. Transcripts may also be faxed to our office at 401-863-3916 or emailed as an attachment to summerapply@brown.edu.
  5. A $50 non-refundable Application Fee

Important Dates

NOTE: Completed applications are due as soon as possible.

Monday, 2/10/2014 – Brown must receive $300 program deposit to confirm attendance by this date. This deposit is non-refundable, except in the case that the program does not run.

Friday, 2/14/2014 – Program confirmation emails sent to students.
NOTE: Do not book your flights or purchase plane tickets until you receive an email from Brown confirming the program.
