Methods in Biochemistry
This course is expected to run but has not yet been scheduled.
The disciplines of Biochemistry and Cell Biology address the biological processes of living organism from different perspectives but together they help scientists gain an understanding of complex processes that occur in living organisms. Unraveling these pathways has allowed the approach to human diseases to be more specific because it can be addressed at the molecular level.
This laboratory intensive course covers the basic theories and techniques used in modern biochemistry and cell biology research laboratories. Students will perform a number traditional, and advanced biochemistry and cell biology procedures, including spectrophotometry, gel electrophoresis, enzyme assays, and protein purification. In addition, students will have an opportunity to explore biological concepts through cell culture techniques and observation of live mammalian cells.
*Please note: This course has a Supplemental Fee of $300.00.
