Study Abroad: Rome Program Details

Images of Rome

Overview

Summer Study Abroad: Rome provides students the opportunity to live in Rome’s vibrant present and explore its Imperial past. Following a four-week immersion in the city of modern Rome and its historical sites (Roman Forum, Colosseum, hill to Palatine), students spend a week on the Sorrentine Coast. From here, this program explores Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mt. Vesuvius, the Naples Archaeological Museum and other sites which chronicle the events of the Roman Empire. Students complete this program with an in-depth knowledge of imperial Roman history gained through hands-on exploration of the ancient remains. Traveling by bus and foot throughout the city each day, you will feel at home in the city that is your classroom.

Housing

In Rome, students live in a central residential facility. Students will share a room with one or two other students.  Breakfast and dinner Monday through Friday are included while in Rome. Lunches and weekend meals are on your own to enjoy the delicious offerings of Rome’s cafes, trattorias and restaurants. During the final week of the program, you will live in a shared room at a hotel in Sorrento. Breakfast is included while in Sorrento.
We cannot arrange for housing prior to or after the program dates.
