CIS central services are located at 3 Davol Square in the Jewelry District of Providence. The shipping address for central services is:

CIS offices including Help Desk, Dispatch printing, Service & Repair, the Public Computing Cluster, and the Education Technology Center are located in the the CIT building on campus.

Directions to the CIT building are below.

CIS training and Academic Technology Services are located on campus at:

169 Angel Street (at the corner of Angel and Thayer Streets)
Above the Paragon Restaurant.
Entrance is at the rear of the restaurant.

Directions to Davol Square by Car

From the East (on I-195W)

  1. Take Exit 1A in RI, Point Street exit
  2. At the end of the ramp, turn right onto Point Street.
  3. Continue straight on Point Street; Davol Square will be on your left after two traffic lights and the Hess gas Station.
    • Please note that parking at Davol Square is very tight and you can only park in the Davol Square parking lot if you have a Lot 83 parking tag.
    • If you have a Brown parking tag (non-Lot 83), you can park at the Ship Street parking lot (Lot 81).
    • If you are external to Brown (vendor or visitor) or an employee who doesn't have a Brown parking tag, you need to find street or garage parking (222 Richmond St. - entrance on Eddy St. The Richmond Street Garage closes at 7:00 pm. The cost is $9:00 per day. To get to this garage, turn left after the Hess Station. It is three blocks ahead on the left.)
  4. CIS is located in 3 Davol Square, Building B. Enter through the glassed entrance (to your right from the directory sign), then take the elevator to the 2nd floor and CIS's main reception area.

From the North (on I-95S)

  1. Take Exit 21, Atwells Avenue.
  2. Stay straight on "Service Road" through 4 traffic lights.
  3. At the 5th light, turn left onto Point Street.
  4. Continue straight on Point Street; Davol Square will be on your left after two traffic lights and the Hess gas Station.
    • Please note that parking at Davol Square is very tight and you can only park in the Davol Square parking lot if you have a Lot 83 parking tag.

From Brown

  1. Take Brook Street South to Wickenden Street.
  2. Turn right on Wickenden, and cross the Point Street Bridge.
  3. The street turns into Point Street, and Davol Square will be on your right.
    • Please note that parking at Davol Square is very tight and you can only park in the Davol Square parking lot if you have a Lot 83 parking tag.
    • If you have a Brown parking tag (non-Lot 83), you can park at the Ship Street parking lot (Lot 81).

Directions to Davol Square (and CIT) by Shuttle

While driving to Davol Square from Brown is one option, there is also a shuttle service available. The BrownMed/Downcity Express arrives at each stop on its route every 15 minutes, starting at 8 am and ending at 6 pm. This free service is available to students, faculty, and staff of Brown and RISD and of the hospitals affiliated with the Brown Medical School. Passengers must show ID before boarding the shuttle van.

Directions to the CIT Building by Car

From North or South

  1. From 95 North or South, exit to 195 East.
  2. Proceed to Exit 2 (India St.)
  3. At the foot of the exit ramp, turn left onto India Street.
  4. Take India Street until it ends, and then make a right on to Gano St.
  5. Proceed for 13 blocks to the Angell St. traffic light (Angell St. is one way to the left).
  6. Turn left, then proceed on Angell St. for 6 blocks to Thayer St. traffic light.
  7. Turn left, then proceed one block to Waterman St.
  8. Turn left again. (Waterman St. is one way to left.)
  9. The CIT building is the second building on the right. This is the back entrance. There is a visitors parking lot on Brook Street, just east of the CIT (Parking Map)
  10. The Help Desk is located off the main lobby to your left. Take the elevator to the second floor for the Swig Board Room and training classes.

Other Directions

Brown University has a directions phone line that can provide general directions to campus. That number is (401) 863-1600. The CIT building is on the corner of Brook and Waterman Streets, so once you reach campus, you can park and ask for walking directions to the building.
