Use this form to generate a .htaccess file (an access-control file you place on the server, with your web pages, to determine who can view those pages, and/or from where).

Brown Community

Shibboleth Select this option to restrict your pages to Brown faculty, staff, students, and other closely affiliated groups.

User List

Shibboleth Select this option to restrict your pages to people with specific IDs that you provide above.

Groups

Shibboleth Add the name(s) of MACE Grouper groups that you would like to have access to your site. You can find a listing of some groups here.

IP Address

This option does not use Shibboleth. CIS does not recommend this option, it is provided as a convenience.

Select this option (and enter a list of space-separated IP [network] addresses/masks) to restrict your pages to people coming in via those (network) addresses. Effective use of this option requires an in-depth understanding of IP addressing.

Fixed Usernames

This option does not use Shibboleth. CIS does not recommend this option, it is provided as a convenience.

Select this option and enter a list of comma-separated usernames (not Brown usernames, but rather usernames that you create). This option is if you want to restrict access to particular individuals, without using Brown ID access control.
