The program offers degree, long-term, medium-term and short-term clinical research training tracks.
Degree Programs
Brown University offers long-term training culminating in the following degrees to Fogarty AITRP trainees:
- Masters in Public Health
- Masters in Biostatistics
- Masters in Behavior and Social Sciences
- Ph.D in Epidemiology
- Ph.D in Biostatistics
- Ph.D in Health Services Research
Tufts University offers long-term training culminating in the following degrees to Fogarty AITRP trainees:
- Masters in Public Health
- Masters in Clinical Research
- Ph.D in Clinical Research
- Ph.D in Nutrition, AIDS related
Non-degree Programs
The Brown/Tufts/Miriam AITRP provides intensive research training tracks, that will allow the trainee to obtain specific knowledge, skills, and information needed to become an independent and productive AIDS researcher upon return to their home country. The medium and long term training tracks offered:
- HIV and prevention research
- Nutrition and metabolism issues in HIV care
- HIV and Women
- HIV therapeutic clinical research
- HIV clinical virology
- HIV related pharmacology
- Quantitative sciences in HIV research
- Child and adolescent HIV
- TB/HIV
Short-term training tracks are also offered in laboratory procedures and specific research techniques. These training tracks are usually one to three months long.
