Project Title: Attitudes Toward Sexual Equality by Religion in India
This project involves an experiment embedded in a representative sample in the provinces of Kerala and Kashmir. The project explores attitudes toward gender equality by sex and religion. We investigate decision making about such critical topics as polygyny, health care, education, voting, pay for work travel and family planning, examining how such decisions differ when people make them about their sons versus their daughters or about males versus females. In addition, we obtain additional demographic and religious information which allows us greater insight into our data.
