About Brown’s Information Technology Services Catalog

The IT Services Catalog is a directory of computing services and tools that Computing and Information Services (CIS) and other Brown Departments provide to the University community. The catalog contains information about services, how to order them, which populations are eligible, and how to get help.

Adding Services

Any member of the Brown community may request that a new service be added to the catalog. To add a service, log in and then fill out the information required for each service. To be entered in the catalog, a service does not have to be available to faculty, staff and students but it should be available to at least one of these constituencies in their entirety. Services available only to one department are not appropriate. Please refer to the tips for drafting services entries when creating your service descriptions. Services that are in development should not be added until the service is in production, and development is done.

If you have difficulty submitting a request, the basic information should be emailed to CIS_Communications@brown.edu. Requests will be reviewed every Friday. As custodians of the catalog, CIS staff will work with departments to assure that service entries are clear and that they are in the most usable location in the catalog.

Editing and Deleting Services

CIS Staff maintain the overall catalog and want to assure that it is useful to the University Community. As such, there is common language and interrelated content within the catalog. Should information in the catalog be inaccurate, or if you have a suggestion for how to improve entries in the catalog, then please email CIS_Communications@brown.edu with the link to the service and your suggestion.
