Desktop Backup

The Desktop Backup Service, Mozy, provides a method of backing files from a computer's hard drive to the Mozy service "in the cloud". In the event of file deletion or hard drive failure, files can be recovered from Mozy backups. This service is intended for university administrators and others who keep important university records on local hard drives.

Domain Name Service

DNS (Domain Name Service) resolves names that are used by applications (like web or email) to their IP address. Brown maintains DNS names and their corresponding addresses for any name ending in .brown.edu. This service also provides a corresponding reverse lookup function to map IP addresses back to their respective names.
