Audio & Video Streaming and Download

Brown media distribution channels include options for streaming and download.

Streaming (files appear on your web browser):   Flash and Apple streaming to computers and mobile devices is provided by Wowza for up to 400 concurrent users. Streaming content is viewed via the web and cannot be downloaded.

Live Streaming (media broadcasting live on the internet): Live streaming is available for campus events. Events can be watched live on computers and mobile devices by visiting a Brown website.   Live streamed events are recorded while they're happening, and can be repurposed after the event is over.

Download (files are stored on your computer/mobile device):  Brown uses iTunes to provide multimedia file download for classroom use (only available to members of the class) and non-classroom use (available to the world).

The Media Production Group staff can consult with you on the best options to distribute your content.

For recording, see Audio & Video Recording and Editing.  For classroom streaming of full-length movies, please see Online Course Reserves (OCRA).
